Short title
and interpretation.
The King's Most Excellent Majesty in Council
•
Whereas circumstances have arisen in the Colony
of Hong Kong (hereinafter called "the Colony") which make it expedient that provision should be made whereby
so long as the said circumstances continue, certain
functions exercisable by the Governor of the Colony
(hereinafter called "the Governor") and other
authorities under laws in force in the Colony should
be exercisable otherwise and that such lawe should be
modified in other respects;
Now, therefore, His Majesty in exercise of all
powers enabling Him in that behalf, is pleased, by and
with the advice of His Privy Council, to order, and it
18 hereby ordered, as follows :-
1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Hong Kong (Temporary Provisions) Order in Council, 1942.
(2) The Interpretation Act, 1889, shall apply
for the interpretation of this Order as it applies
for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament. Application of 2(1), Notwithstanding anything contained in any moneys of Hong
